29 Madison Street
|
In the 1800s, this home was a boarding house to many area laborers. The neighborhood’s proximity to the Erie and Genesee Valley Canals, the Cunningham Carriage Factory, and the many businesses on West Main Street provided ample opportunities for employment close to home. After standing vacant for a number of years, this house was saved from structural deterioration and potential destruction. The exterior features original wood shingles and a lovely front porch with chamfered posts and decorative brackets. |
