Final Resting Place
Susan B. Anthony continued her struggle for women’s suffrage until the end of her life. In 1905, at the age of 85, she met with Theodore Roosevelt in Washington to lobby for her cause. She died less than a year later, on March 13, 1906. She was 86 years old.
“To think I have more than 60 years of hard struggle for a little liberty”, she was quoted in her obituary, “and then to die without it seems so cruel”.
Susan B. Anthony was buried in Mount Hope Cemetery on March 15 in Rochester, in the Anthony family plot. Her final resting place can be visited during regular cemetery hours. The family plot is in Section C, number 93.
